Refund and Cancellation Policy – Abroad Financial Technologies Ltd

In case of discrepancy between the English and Spanish versions, the English version shall prevail.
1. Scope of the Policy
This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to all registered users: individuals and legal entities who access or use Abroad’s on-ramp and off-ramp services.
Abroad Financial Technologies Ltd (“Abroad”) is a private company limited by shares, registered under the Companies Act 2006 in England and Wales (Company Number 15943580).
Abroad operates as a technology infrastructure developer and provider. Abroad is not a broker or financial institution and does not engage in any activity that requires such registration.
Services in Colombia are provided by Traguatan S.A.S., incorporated under Colombian law (NIT 901.049.033-3, Bogotá, Colombia).
All financial products are offered through duly regulated financial institutions and licensed partners in each jurisdiction.
2. Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
The applicable law shall be determined by the country in which the transaction is executed:
- For transactions conducted in Colombia, Colombian consumer and financial regulations apply.
- For transactions conducted in Brazil, Brazilian consumer and financial regulations apply.
In all other cases, and in the absence of mandatory local provisions, this Policy shall be governed by and construed under the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to any recognized arbitration body seated in London, United Kingdom.
3. Nature of Services and Irreversibility
Abroad provides non-custodial technology infrastructure. Abroad does not hold, manage, or have access to users’ private keys, wallets, or digital assets.
All blockchain transactions are irreversible by design. Once a transaction is signed and broadcast to the network, it cannot be canceled, modified, or reversed by Abroad or any third party.
Users are fully responsible for:
- Ensuring the accuracy of wallet addresses and banking information.
- Safely managing their private keys, seed phrases, and authentication credentials.
- Reviewing and confirming the value, conversion rate, and applicable fees before authorizing any transaction.
4. Refund and Cancellation Rules
- No right of withdrawal or voluntary cancellation: Once the user signs and confirms a transaction, no refund or reversal shall be available.
- Refunds will only be processed in cases where Abroad or its direct partners are at fault (e.g., platform operational error, PSP technical failure, or unexecuted transaction).
- Refund requests must be submitted within five (5) calendar days from the date of the transaction by email to support@abroad.finance. Requests made after this period will not be considered.
- Refunds are not available in cases involving user error, incorrect data entry, wallet mistakes, or network congestion.
5. Eligibility and Exclusions
Refunds shall only be considered when the issue arises directly from Abroad’s infrastructure or that of its official partners (Movii in Colombia, Transfero in Brazil).
Refunds shall not apply to:
- Market volatility, depeg of stablecoins, or price changes.
- Gas fees, miner fees, or third-party commissions.
- User mistakes in wallet addresses or payment details.
- Transactions already settled in fiat or blockchain confirmations.
- Non-execution due to incomplete or failed KYC/KYT verification.
- Fraudulent activity or risk flags related to AML/CFT compliance.
As Abroad is a
non-custodial platform, it cannot assume liability for user fraud, key loss, or unauthorized access
6. Procedure and Evidence Requirements
To request a refund, users must email
support@abroad.finance or submit a case through Abroad’s official Discord support channel. Each request must include:
- Transaction ID or on-chain hash.
- Screenshots evidencing the transaction and amounts.
- Description of the issue, including dates, values, and associated wallet address.
Abroad may request additional information for verification. Failure to provide it may result in rejection of the request
7. Processing and Resolution Times
- Refund requests will receive an acknowledgment within 72 hours of receipt.
- Once approved, the refund will be processed to the same wallet used in the original transaction and in the same currency, whenever possible.
- Abroad is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment processors or blockchain network congestion
8. Fraud Prevention and Abuse
Abroad reserves the right to deny refunds in cases of repeated or abusive claims, fraudulent conduct, or violations of the Terms of Service.
A user submitting more than
two refund claims within six months may be subject to enhanced review and monitoring.
9. Policy Updates
Abroad may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in operations, technology, or applicable law. Updates will be communicated via Abroad’s official website and social media channels.
Continued use of Abroad’s services constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
10. Hierarchy and Prevalence
In case of conflict between this Policy and the Terms of Service, the
Terms of Service shall prevail.
Nothing in this Policy limits the user’s inalienable rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
